MONDAY FRIENDS

Monday Friends is a weekly online meditation group that is open to all and is dedicated to practicing awareness in daily life, and to nourish friendship among all beings.

In 2026, the Monday evening meetings are devoted to mastering daily life meditation in the style of Sayadaw U Tejaniya.

This style of meditation aims at maintaining a bright and clear awareness through all of life’s daily activities—while waking, walking, washing, speaking, eating, thinking, running errands, having conversations, and every moment of daily life.

In this way, we constantly cultivate the arising of all the mind’s positive qualities including loving-kindness, joy, equanimity, and especially, wisdom.

Through the year, we are following Sayadaw U Tejaniya’s guide to daily life meditation, Relax and Be Aware: Mindfulness Meditations for Clarity, Consciousness, and Wisdom.

Here is a description of the Monday Friends program this year.

You can join a Monday Friends meeting any time, with no requirement to having started the year at the beginning. As the Buddha said: “The dharma is good at the beginning, good in the middle, and good at the end.”

Everyone is free to come regularly or to drop in any time.

We meet on Zoom from 7 to 8 PM CDT, every Monday.
